Who We Are
Purpose Statement
“Reach – Teach – Release”
Good Shepherd Church desires to glorify God by Reaching people with the message of God’s love, Teaching them through the ministry of God’s Word, passionate worship, and fervent prayer, then, Releasing those same people to serve in and beyond the local church setting.
We believe that worship is not only a Sunday morning expression of our faith, but that we are to daily present our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is our spiritual service of worship. (Romans 12:1-2
A Brief History
Good Shepherd Church was established in 1998 as a church planting of Covenant Church of Pittsburgh under Bishop Joseph L. Garlington. At that time, the Lord led Pastor Rick and Debbie Wiater and a small group of believers to establish a new worshipping community in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Today, Good Shepherd Church is a growing, caring, life-giving community of worshippers who desire to hold forth the message of God’s love to their fellow man.
